The SEA Regulation is Turkey's adaptation of the EU's CLP Regulation (1272/2008/EC) and is based on the UN Globally Harmonized System (GHS). Every hazardous substance and mixture placed on the market must be classified for physical, health and environmental hazards, and its label must be arranged with the correct hazard pictograms, signal word, hazard statements (H) and precautionary statements (P).
Why is classification critical?
Classification directly determines the SDS content, the label, packaging requirements, the KKDİK registration tier, and even storage/transport obligations. An incorrect classification causes a chain reaction of non-compliance.
